Your Story Matters: Learn How to Share It

November 5 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Families raising children experiencing disability know their children best. Your experience matters. It can help lawmakers and other decision-makers understand what is working, what is hard, and what changes could make a difference.

Join the Oregon Council on Developmental Disabilities and Bridging Communities for a free workshop about advocacy. Learn ways to become a stronger advocate for yourself, your child, or someone you care about.

📅 Thursday, November 5
🕕 6:00–7:30 PM
📍 AllCare Health Community Room
1701 NE 7th Street, Grants Pass, OR 97526

We’ll talk about how to:

  • Share your story in a way that works for you
  • Connect with lawmakers & other decision-makers
  • Understand proposed laws & changes that could affect you
  • Advocate around Medicaid & disability services
  • Share your input & give testimony

We’ll also look ahead at issues that could affect people experiencing disability and their families in 2027, including Medicaid work requirements, changes to how people qualify for services, funding for disability services, and possible changes to providers and services.

New to advocacy? You belong here! You do not need to know how government works or have advocacy experience to participate. We’ll explain things in plain language, and there will be time to ask questions.

Dinner and Spanish interpretation provided.
